Djay Bustamante

I’m Djay Bustamante, a Filipino creative based in Manila, Philippines. I help clients bring ideas to life through my pro-level skills in multiple creative disciplines in design, motion, and web development work. Think of me as a Fractional Creative Director and Technical Lead.

For over a decade, I have worked with agencies and individuals, helping them in their digital marketing strategies. My portfolio includes leading the overhaul of a Swiss listing platform (+55 pp paid subscription growth), producing explainer videos for 300+ global companies, and producing animated visuals for over 10 local events.

Outside client work, I build digital apps that create lasting value. These side projects keep my thinking fresh and skills abreast—and often bring unexpected benefits to clients.

If you’re looking for a creative partner to elevate your visual, digital, and marketing strategies, let’s connect and explore collaboration opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Working Together

How do you choose which projects to take on?

I work with a limited number of clients at a time to give each project the attention it deserves. I choose projects where I can provide the most value—whether it’s elevating a brand, crafting strategic visuals, or building something that has lasting impact.

Yes. I handle all creative direction and lead the execution myself unless the scope calls for additional partners. In such cases, I bring in collaborators I trust and oversee everything to ensure consistency and quality.

I respect the discretion required when working with private individuals or sensitive projects. NDAs are welcome, and I keep all information shared strictly confidential.

I bring strategy and craft together. My work is thoughtful, not templated—and built to connect across channels, platforms, and audiences. Whether you’re launching a campaign or creating internal assets, I aim to elevate both the message and the medium.

Process & Collaboration

What does your creative process look like?

It always starts with listening—understanding your goals, your audience, and what success looks like. From there, I map out a plan: concept, design, build, iterate, and launch. I keep communication clear at every step.

Clarity upfront prevents surprises later. I share checkpoints during the process, gather feedback at key stages, and stay aligned on goals. Revisions are built into the workflow to refine the outcome.

A quick brief on your goals, timeline, and existing materials (if any) is a good start. From there, I’ll guide you through what else is needed depending on your project type.

Send me a message through my contact form or book a call. We’ll have a a short intro call to see if there’s a good fit. From there, I’ll propose a roadmap and we’ll move forward if aligned.

I expect some iteration. Most projects include a set number of revisions, but I aim to get it right early through solid discovery. We’ll agree on a revision approach that fits the timeline and scope.

Technical Set

What tools and software do you use?

I use industry-standard tools like Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop), Figma, and WordPress. For project management and feedback, I adapt to your systems or provide my own.

Absolutely. I’ve worked alongside agencies, internal departments, and other developers. I’m flexible in integrating into existing workflows and communication setups.

It depends on the project, but typically includes high-res visuals, optimized assets for web or print, editable source files if agreed upon, and other technical specs. I always ensure you can use the work across channels.

I’ll propose a realistic schedule based on the project’s scope. I respect deadlines and communicate clearly if scope or timeline shifts. Urgent timelines can be accommodated depending on availability.

I have my own hosting servers for website projects. I also manage clients’ servers.

I’ve managed everything from shared hosting to more sophisticated setups (AWS, Digital Ocean), and offer ongoing support options for clients who want peace of mind.

Investment & Ongoing Value

How do you determine the investment for a project?

I quote based on scope, timeline, and complexity—not by the hour. You’ll get a clear proposal outlining what’s included, with options if needed. Transparency comes first.

Yes. Some clients retain me monthly for site care, brand support, or content creation. These retainers are customized based on your evolving needs.

Beyond strong visuals, clients often gain clarity in their messaging, improved audience engagement, and long-term brand consistency. My goal is to help you move forward with confidence.

Success looks different for every client. For some, it’s smoother internal communication. For others, it’s higher conversions or a refreshed brand. We’ll define success together and evaluate accordingly.

You’ll receive all final assets and documentation. If ongoing support makes sense, we can continue. If it’s a one-time project, you’ll still walk away with tools and clarity to move forward.

Not the fastest bird,
   Yet I swim, I walk, I dig—
I’m boundless and free.
